Wetsuit Info!

If you have a wetsuit, we suggest you bring it! We have been wetsuit legal 6 OUT OF THE LAST 10 YEARS. The water temp will be very close on race morning and due to the size of the body of water it can change quickly. The official water temp will be taken race morning at 5:00am and posted and announced in transition. 

With regards to wearing wetsuits, we follow the guidelines outlined by our sanctioning body, USA Triathlon. These guidelines state that if the water temperature is 78 degrees Farenheit or lower, all competitors may wear wetsuits; if water temperature is between 78.1 degrees Fahrenheit and 83.9 degrees Farenheit, competitors may wear a wetsuit with penalty; and if water temperature is 84 degrees Fahrenheit or above, competitors may not wear a wetsuit. Sprint Tri:
400 yard swim, 12.3 mile bike, 5k run

Sprint Duathlon
1 mile run, 12.3 mile bike, 3.1 run


Course Nutrition

Many of the details are still to be determined for the 2010 race. However, at this point, both the bike and the run course will have lemon-lime Gatorade and the run course will have flat Coke.


Cash Prize:

Male: $500 1st place, $250 2nd, $150 3rd, $100 4th.

Female: $500 1st place, $250 2nd, $150 3rd, $100 4th.

To be eligible for prize money, you must be entered in the Open Wave. If an athlete registered in his or her Age Group category has the fastest overall time, they will only receive the award for that age group.


Rules:                                                                                                  

Muncie Endurathon will follow USA Triathlon rules.  A copy of those rules is available at USA Triathlon's website.  RULES ENFORCEMENT DURING THIS EVENT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HEAD REFEREE.  ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL.


Body Marking: 

Body marking will take place on Friday at the Horizon Convention Center and at Prairie Creek Reservoir on race morning.  Please do not use any body oils or lotions prior to body marking.


Post-Race Meal:                                                                                      

All participants will be provided a free post-race meal.  Serving will take place from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Prairie Creek Reservoir.  Athlete will pick up his/her meal ticket at the Muncie Endurathon table at the finish of the race.  Additional tickets may be purchased at the Endurathon information table at packet pick up or on race day.
